NessPay is a payment solution created for human resources whose mission is to empower companies to improve the financial health of their employees. We interviewed Gary Abouaf, Founder of NessPay, about their Maki People usage, the recruitment challenges they face, and his vision of recruitment without a CV. Interview.
From recruitment issues to skills assessments
Before the integration of Maki People, the strategic challenges in recruitment at NessPay were "to find the best candidates, as quickly as possible, by having a recruitment process that is not subjective". All this, by quickly identifying the most qualified candidates based on their hard and soft skills.
Today, Gary Abouaf, Founder of NessPay explains: "Most of the people working at NessPay were recruited using Maki People. I would say about half of our current team (out of more than 40 applications received in total)". In terms of assessments, NessPay focuses on business-oriented assessments for positions related to sales, marketing, or content.
But the use of the tool does not stop at the stage of identifying new recruits. Indeed, the NessPay team also uses it to evaluate its existing employees: "it is also a way to challenge ourselves internally since the test results of candidates finally pull us up too". This dual use drives continuous improvement and upskilling of the NessPay team.
A renewed recruitment process to identify the most qualified candidates
"Thanks to Maki People, our recruitment decisions are now based on the candidates’ hard & soft skills assessed"
The tool allows NessPay teams to remove the biases related to this process by giving the same chance to each profile to ensure more objective and healthy recruitment.
After building a repository of test results obtained over time, NessPay teams save a considerable amount of time in identifying profiles by quickly analyzing the scores obtained for each assessment. Gary Abouaf explains: "Once we receive the test results from Maki People, we don't have to do much more than analyze the scores and the answers”.
Maki People also allows NessPay teams to confirm their choices in recruiting certain talents and to gain efficiency in this process: "It happens very often that we have a good feeling with a candidate during an interview, but we also need to be sure they are competent for the job. In these cases, the assessment tool helps validate and back our feeling”.
Skills-based recruitment with Maki People: vision and projections
"I'm a huge believer in resume-less recruitment in the future. We are seeing more and more people who have no academic background or come from an industry that has nothing to do with the one we operate in, but are extremely motivated and competent to join us. And this is definitely not something we can detect at first glance when relying on a resume alone.”
NessPay has 8 positions currently open - in CSM, Business Development and more - and a new wave of recruitment planned "from September or October", which they plan to continue filling using their dynamic recruitment process based on skills assessment using Maki People.
